Universal Studios Japan tickets are date-specific: on the official site, 1-day tickets start at ¥8,400 for adults and ¥5,500 for children (4–11 years), with prices varying by date; there's no ticket counter at the park, so buy through official online sales or a travel agency or platform, and tickets can't be refunded. The Express Pass doesn't include admission, so you need a separate ticket; it goes on sale about 2 months before the visit date in limited numbers. From JR Osaka Station to Universal City Station takes about 11 min.
The official site splits admission into 1-day, 1.5-day and 2-day tickets and the Twilight Pass for entry after 3 p.m. Prices vary by date; the table shows the official “starting prices” (incl. tax), and actual prices are on the price calendar of official online sales.
Age categories: adults 12+, children 4–11, age 3 and under free, and senior tickets for 65+. Japan's school year starts on 1/4; the official site says children starting junior high in month 4 buy child tickets for visits until 3/31 and adult tickets from 4/1.
Limited time: during 2026/11/13–12/30, the Holiday Kids Free Pass lets 1 adult bring 1 child aged 4–11 in free (adults from ¥8,400).

The Express Pass lets you use a dedicated queue lane; it can't be used for entry, so you need a separate admission ticket. It's split by the number of attractions, 4, 5, 7 or 8, plus Premium, with official starting prices: Express Pass 4 ¥6,800, 5 ¥12,200, 7 ¥14,100, 8 ¥15,500, Premium ¥27,600 (same price for all ages, varying by availability).
Some combinations include guaranteed entry to the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD area; for some attractions you pick a ride time when you buy. The official site says Express Passes go on sale about 2 months before the visit date in limited numbers, so check as soon as your date is set.
Whether to buy depends on whether the rides you most want are in the combination and how crowded the day is expected to be; passes with the same name, “Express Pass 4,” have different attractions and prices (e.g. the two Express Pass 4 options recommended on the official site both start at ¥14,800).
| Ticket type | Official starting price | Attractions with shorter waits |
|---|---|---|

| Express Pass 7 | From ¥14,100 | 7 set attractions |
| Express Pass 8 | From ¥15,500 | 8 set attractions |

Official online sales (WEB Ticket Store) also sell tickets on the day of your visit, but the official site says the park doesn't sell tickets in person, so you can't buy at the gate. You can also buy from the travel agencies and platforms listed on the official site.
Admission tickets are for a set visit date. Official FAQ: once bought, they can't be canceled except where required by law; the visit date can be changed following the official site's procedure.
Official warning: since 2015/11/1, tickets bought from resellers on ticket or auction sites have invalid QR codes and won't be admitted.

Prices in the table are the lowest total for 2 adults in 1 room with “dates undecided” on each hotel's official booking system (checked 2026/10/22); peak season and holidays are much higher.
