JR EAST PASS (5 days) Pass ¥35,000 Source

New version from 2026/3/14, replacing the former “Tohoku Area” and “Nagano, Niigata Area” passes (the former Tohoku pass at 30,000 yen is no longer sold). Covers all JR East lines (incl. shinkansen and limited express reserved seats) and some other lines such as the Tokyo Monorail; a 10-day version is also available for 50,000 yen.

Compares rail fares only; the pass must cover the days you ride. The nationwide JR Pass doesn't cover Nozomi or Mizuho directly; buy a special ticket (Tokyo ⇄ Shin-Osaka 4,960 yen) or take Hikari or Sakura instead. Nozomi reserved-seat prices on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen will rise for tickets purchased from 2027/7/1.
