FAQ

How to get from Fukuoka Airport to Hakata and Tenjin?

The international terminal has no direct subway connection: take the free shuttle bus to the domestic terminal, then the Subway Airport Line to Hakata or Tenjin. There are also buses straight to Hakata Station.

Is it easy to get from Fukuoka to Dazaifu and Yufuin?

You can reach Dazaifu on your own by Nishitetsu train; Yufuin and Beppu are farther, so without a car join a day trip or take a highway bus or JR limited express.

Should I buy the JR Kyushu Rail Pass?

Not needed if you're only exploring Fukuoka city; if you're taking the shinkansen to Kumamoto or Kagoshima, or a limited express to Yufuin or Beppu, compare it with buying single tickets.
